Malcolm MacKillop
Malcolm MacKillop is a partner at the law firm of Shields O’Donnell MacKillop LLP and is regarded as one of Canada’s most respected and talented employment lawyers. Malcolm spent over 17 years practicing exclusively employment law with two National Law firms, the last several years as the National Practice leader of the Employment law practice. His practice is focused on providing employers with strategic employment related advice and to litigating disputes including just cause, wrongful dismissal, constructive dismissal, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, Employment Standards and fiduciary litigation. Malcolm has extensive litigation experience in representing employers in fiduciary related disputes involving obtaining injunctive relief, return of misappropriated corporate information and the enforcement of non-competition and non-solicitation obligations.
Over the last 20 years, Malcolm has been a successful trial lawyer, professional speaker, professor of law, an author of several highly acclaimed legal texts and a regular columnist for the Globe & Mail and the Toronto Star. He has appeared on both local and national television and radio including: The Fifth Estate; W5; CBC – The National; CBC – The Journal; Pamela Wallin Live; CBC Radio; 680 News among others. Malcolm is a past board member of the National Ballet of Canada and a current Board member of the National Club and the Toronto Human Resources Professional Association.
